The Crucible
Spring 2018
The small community of Salem, MA is rocked when a group of young
girls accuse many of the town’s citizens of practicing witchcraft. Trials ensue and the accused who will not admit to being witches are hanged. This play is a story of group hysteria and communal culpability, of the injustice that results when power and personal profit combine.
Featuring historic characters and real-life events, this play challenges us to contemplate the injustices that result from an abuse of power and consider what role we might play in them. It prompts us to consider how far we would go to protect and to speak the truth.
