Anathan Theatre's Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
A Humorous Story of the Power of Love
April 2016
STEUBENVILLE, OH— Shakespeare’s rollicking comedy Twelfth Night will be performed with a twist in Anathan Theatre.
Set in the early 1960s on a Caribbean island that is loosely based on the legends of Princess Margaret’s island getaway of Mustique, the story follows a set of twins who are separated when they wash ashore after a shipwreck.
In their search for each other, they encounter intrigue, sword fights, and heart-wrenching romance. In this madcap comedy, will they find the remedy that can save them from themselves?
Directed by drama professor John Walker, Twelfth Night uses the shipwreck figuratively and literally to comment on the saving power of love.
