Words Words Words

This original production is a comedic compilation of texts on the theme of writers and writing. It features three one-act plays: David Ives’ Words, Words, Words and Variations on the Death of Trotsky, and In It Together, by Dr. Monica Anderson. The show also features adaptations of short stories and memoirs, including Michael O’Donohue’s “How to Write Good,” and advice to writers from authors Stephen King, Richard Russo, and Ann Patchett. The production are also includes songs written by actors in the performance.
This show builds upon an original production devised by Dr. Anderson for the spring 2001 Anathan Theatre production, Words, Words, Words and How to Use Them to Write Good. While it features two pieces from the 2001 show, the current production is primarily new material, all of it addressing in some way the challenges and joys of the art of writing.
