The Madwoman of Chaillot
STEUBENVILLE, OH— The Franciscan University Theatre Department will present Jean Giradoux’s The Madwoman of Chaillot as translated by Maurice Valency to audiences this spring.
Set in 1945, a group of artists and one “elderly woman of unbalanced mental capacity” work to stop a greedy profiteer and his gang of villains from blowing up Paris to search for oil. It is an iconic tale of finding joy in an environment that is overwhelmed with a challenge of beauty vs. greed.
Performances will be held April 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9 at 7pm, and April 2 and 10 at 2pm in Anathan Theatre, on the ground floor of Egan Hall.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and seniors. Admission is free for clergy, religious, and children under 12. Tickets may be reserved by calling 740-283-6245, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm, or bought at the door on a first come, first served basis.
